Once upon a time, a tall handsome young man lived by the Zurich lake in northern Switzerland. He often over looked the water hoping to come across a mermaid. But without success.

His job took him to the four corners of the world (strange expression to describe planet Earth!). One day, whilst diving in the tropical waters in the Mexican Gulf, he met… his mermaid! Apologies: his Siri…

The romantic prince decided to wed his princess. The wedding took place on August 1st, 2015 on a sunny afternoon in the Alsace wine yards (the civil wedding took place on the previous Thursday).

Very happy to share their happiness, guests came from all over Europe, some from even further afar. There were the noble Vikings, parents and friends of the princess… and many friends who came to celebrate the Swiss-Swedish union of the handsome young man curious of the fine Lady, smiley, spontaneous, lively and passionate of… tarte Tatin!

The ceremony, led by Master Samuel, cousin of the bride and good friend of the couple, was cosy, happy, funny and emotional. After the traditional line-up to congratulate the newly weds and the pre-dinner drinks (vin d’honneur) we were invited to visit the wine celler of the wine yard and more importantly to taste some of the fine wines produced on the domaine.

The palace of the prince and princess was situated in the middle of the wine yards waiting for the guests for a candlelit dinner, close to the area where the ceremony had taken place.
A superb dinner during which we were given a Swedish lesson in order to celebrate / congratulate the newly weds in style (the second text is to help with the pronunciation!):

Helan gar,
Sjung hopp falleri faderallan lej
Helan gar,
Sjung hopp féderallan lej
Och den som inte helan tar

Helan gar
(drink)
Sjung hopp faderallan lej
